History Happens : Twice because people don’t listen : at the first TIME

History never really says goodbye. History says, “See you later.”
By Eduardo Galeano

Learning history is just a waste of time or some students might argue in the first place that history should not be taught in school. But, the truth is that history saves the time of the individual and the country by preventing them or us from doing the same mistakes from the past. Also, history is not boring but the way it is taught is colorless or lifeless. In “The History Teacher” by Billy Collins, the poem illustrates a perfect example of an inaccurate way of teaching history. The history teacher undermines the events of history to protect the innocence of the kids. He does not fulfill his job as a teacher which as a result, his attempt to preserve the innocence backfires when the kids “torment” each other. As the kids are not fostered with the violence in the past, they are led to follow the same pattern of the history.  Children should be aware of their past, so they can work on changing their future with this knowledge. For example, the leaders in the past have helped inspire the future leaders or the wars in the past have encouraged countries to be in peace with each other. Additionally, history contains intriguing stories on how to live and be human. It educates us with important life and research skills to tackle our problems in the future. Therefore, history is called the extraordinary sweetest subject because it is full dates.
