Past : Present : Future

"Don't cry over the past, it's gone.
Don't stress about the future, it hasn't arrived.
Live in the present and make it beautiful"

For me, the past is always a ghost who is haunting me where ever I go. The homework in the past haunts me in the present with my teacher checking it. But, when I think of the past in a bigger picture. There have been people who have suffered or are suffering a lot because of some bitter episodes in the history of the world. We can categorize these pain carriers into three categories.

In the first category, are the people who killed themselves like Norman Bowker and Anja. They teach a lesson that there are many innocent people who have been sacrificed for someone’s mistake or impulsiveness. So, we can learn to never take any decisions that involves an innocent to suffer.

In the second category, are the people who cope with their past by writing like Art and O’Brien. From these authors, we can learn that there is always Option C to face the past. And sometimes, these coping methods involves teaching a moral to the world (through a book). We can build our future on these morals of the past.

In the last category, are the people who show they pain against other people like Vladek to Art. These people represent how the past effects human behavior but also encourages people to stand together next to each other to understand each other as well. But mainly to face the past incidents or the future obstacles.

In the end, the past not only contains some sad endings but contains some of the most important lessons to be learned for the future.
